Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata is not very obscure, in fact, I would be willing to bet most of you have already watched or read it! If not, you must have heard of it at least once from your otaku friends. Of course, it never deserved to be obscure, as it is simply amazing.

Death Note is about a teenage boy-- Light Yagami--, who is very bored by everything. With nothing that interests him, he sees a odd black notebook fall from the sky. Upon picking it up he discovers that the book "Death Note" was a tool to kill. Upon writing names into the book, the said person will die. Growing a horrid god complex, he decided to use the Death Note to eliminate all the bad people in the world, hoping to become a god. Death Note was amazingly thought out, and it is certainly my favorite anime I have ever seen. The show really holds you close making you really choose sides, who is the good guy L or Light? - Main Characters
